Course Overview
Our 6,428-yard, par 70 old course carries a remarkable heritage. Recognised as the world’s oldest inland course, it began under the guiding hand of Old Tom Morris and George Sayers, before James Braid added his own thoughtful refinements. Laid across free-draining glacial sands, it has all the hallmarks of true moorland golf—firm, flowing fairways that can be enjoyed all year round.
Over the years, the course has quietly earned its place on a wider stage—welcoming national and international amateur championships, along with regional qualifying for The Open. It’s something the Club takes great pride in, being part of moments that connect Lanark to the wider story of the game.
The 9-hole “Wee Course” has a character all of its own—a place where the game feels simple, enjoyable, and full of possibility. Made up of nine varied par 3 holes, from a gentle 75 yards to a more testing 233, it offers something for everyone, whether you’re picking up a club for the first time or refining your touch.
